DEF LEPPARD Hall of Fame

It's a good morning on Friday and a good day for music as one of the bands I grew up with is going in the Hall of Fame.....DEF LEPPARD

I will say this I can truly remember the first time I heard them and have been with them ever since.....ok I lied I lost interest in late 80s early 90s but I STILL rock the 1st 4 albums from time to time.  Also, I have only listed the 1st 4 albums here because it is my blog and I can do what I want.

Here is a brief history:
Def Leppard are an English rock band formed in 1977 in Sheffield part of the new wave of British heavy metal movement which included Iron Maiden, Girlschool, Grim Reaper, Saxon, Motorhead and many many others.  (NWOBHM)

The band's strongest commercial success came in 1983 as the album Pyromania was certified diamond (10× platinum), making Def Leppard among the most popular music groups at the time.

Def Leppard have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.  Def Leppard are one of only five rock bands with two original studio albums selling over 10 million copies each in the US, alongside Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Van Halen. Both Pyromania and Hysteria feature in list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time

Since 1992, the band has consisted of Joe Elliott (lead vocals), Rick Savage (bass, backing vocals), Rick Allen (drums, backing vocals), Phil Collen (guitars, backing vocals), and Vivian Campbell (guitars, backing vocals). This is the band's longest lasting line-up.

In 2018 Def Leppard and Journey toured together including 10 dates in baseball stadiums, a first for the band, with special guests, Cheap Trick. The tour was highly successful, as the bands played in front of more than one million fans in North America in just 3 months, marking the tour out as one of the most successful in 2018

On 9 October 2018, Def Leppard received an induction nomination from the Rock Hall of Fames I
The current lineup of the band, along with past members Pete Willis and Steve Clark, will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Def Leppard - Let It Go (1981)

Def Leppard - Bringin' On The Heartbreak (1981)

And after this album one of the founding members of Def Leppard, Pete Willis was replaced during the recording of Pyromania due to excessive drinking hampering his guitar playing.  He was replaced by Phil Collen and Def Leppard went on a meteoric rise

Pyromania (1983)

In 1983, Def Leppard released the now DIAMOND album Pyromania.  What a gem!  (insert I am an idiot joke here)

I mean this album exploded and everyone was wearing British flag tshirts and shorts.  And I just noticed and am quite surprised no one after 9/11 complained about the album cover.....being it had nothing to do with 9/11 but people today are always looking for something to bitch about.....

back to the music...enjoy

Def Leppard - Photograph (1983)

Def Leppard - Too Late For Love (1983)

Def Leppard - Foolin' (1983)

Def Leppard - Rock Of Ages (1983)

On the afternoon of 31 December 1984, Allen was involved in a car accident.  He was thrown from the car because his seatbelt had been improperly fastened, causing his left arm to be severed.

He was never replaced and became the now famous one-armed drummer we know today.

My SECOND favorite song by them....no clue why...maybe its the jam at the end

Def Leppard - Love Bites (1987)

Def Leppard - Animal (1987)
