No SEX, No DRUGS, No WINE, No WOMEN, No FUN, No SIN, No YOU, No Wonder it's DARK

This one is going to be LENGTHY but have some GIRTH.
Sit down, get comfortable and ENJOY the trip back.
I even added some alternative pop stuff to the end but they are OK songs and not the WORST ones...Sorry Its my blog and my music choice.  GUILTY PLEASURES if you must.  I think I am going to broaden this 80s College Tune thing as what was done back in the Early 80s and into the 90s is primarily what you are hearing today just redone with different packaging.  Only back then it was ORIGINAL and GROUNDBREAKING and RAW.

I could EASILY do an ENTIRE list with just Pixies, The Replacements and R.E.M., but that is just TOO EASY and we don't like EASY unless I am single and then I still searched for challenges both mentally and so on....Ask anyone between 25 and 40 and I mean ANYONE and I guarantee they will cite Pixies as one of their favorites.....VERY influential!!!

For shits and giggles.....TWO of my FAVORITE Pixies song of all time....

Pixies - Gouge Away (1989)

"They thought he was real smart alec. He thought big, they called it a phallic. They didn't know he was panoramic. Little eiffel stands in the archway. Keeping low doesn't make no sense. Sometimes people can be oh so dense"  -

Pixies - Alec Eiffel (1991)

VERY UNDERRATED band again....

An album cover showing four men amongst some trees at night. In the top left-hand corner of the cover is the band's name and the album's name is in the top-right corner, both are in yellow text.Echo & The Bunnymen - "Do It Clean" (Live Early 80s)

"Hands down, this version of 'Do It Clean' is the greatest song ever recorded."

File:Echo & the Bunnymen Crocodiles.jpgMY ALLTIME FAVORITE VERSION of this song and its one of the FIRST videos I ever saw on MTV.  Check out the feel and the way they are dressed.

same goes for this one....but CLASSIC to say the least....

Pete Townshend - "Rough Boys"  (1980)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkT8W6u81Ks

and love this quote about the song:
"Pete's sexuality is only part of the song. I's about his relationship to the "punks" of that era and his relationship to himself -- seeing himself in them as well as his elder statesman role -- and his own "bitter mind." I'm not trying to diss anyone but to slough this off as "gay" really misses the point, alhtough I understand that aspect of it.
A powerful song, one of his best, and a great video."

BELOW IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF ALL TIME!!!!...Incredible Great SONG!!
